Do it right or don’t do it at all… (what a crock of sh–)

It’s something that people will tell you all the time, however, they’re wrong. They are so wrong, because I had followed that idea for most of my life. I want to dispel this nonsense now. No matter how you’ve heard the saying “Do it perfect” “Do it right” “Do it Amazing”

Do it.

That’s it.

You need to do it. You can do it wrong, because you’re going to learn it was wrong. You have to actually do it.

However, you sit down and do a perfect course, pitch, product, item, blog, podcast… you get it right. You go and set out to do that PERFECT thing. You spend 100 hours honing, crafting, and creating this perfect thing. Then you’re “ready to launch” and you shove that perfect baby out the door and it gets torn apart, questioned by everyone, or worse… no one looks at it. Something you spend weeks on, creating and putting together, and no one saw it. Your perfect thing! You can’t believe it, it’s over, you’re a failure. You throw it all away, give up, and fall into a depression.

Why is that such a dark example of what could happen. Because it IS what happened. To me. With a lot of things I did. I would spend too much time and sometimes money on a singular thing, and it would fail. Then I would fall apart.

Then, through therapy, coaching, and a lot of meditation and soul searching, I decided that it doesn’t fucking matter. I just started putting things out there, getting out there, and go crazy with it. So, I went for it, and keep going for it.

So, if you spend 2 hours doing something and you release it and people are confused by your content, art, product, you can learn from this and take the feedback (always take the honest feedback). This will let you hone in and get better and make a better thing. Spend a couple more hours, do it again, and get 100 hours in and have such a refined product, after trying and growing along the way. You are DOING IT, you did it, you’re growing and doing amazing things with it!

So, if you’re sitting on it and trying to make it perfect.

STOP

STOP DOING THAT

Release it into the world, share it, talk about it. GIVE IT TO SOMEONE.

Let people see it all!
